Vittorio Dassi Free Standing Wall Unit for Mobili Cantù – Italy, circa 1960 | #C12232

Sophisticated and very rare wall unit by Vittorio Dassi for Mobili Cantù – Italy, circa 1950-60.

The inside of the cabinets and drawers are covered very luxuriously in Birch veneer and red felt. The inside shelves are made of Birch and some of glass. The large cabinet features a fold out bar and three bottle shelves. The image is an etching or handmade drawing of Poseidon, holding his famous trident, in the background you see a Genovese or Venetian ship.

The cabinets, pillars and bookshelves are made of beautiful Italian walnut (part solid and part veneer) with brass details. The pillars have brass feet that are adjustable in height for leveling.

It is a free standing modular system which means the shelves and cabinets can be placed differently and that it can also be used as a room divider.

This is a rare, sophisticated and elegant piece that still remains in very good condition with minor signs of age and use.
